Healing Junction NewsletterHealing Junction is pleased to bring you information on health and nutrition that is useful and pertinent. We have added the links in our website to help you know more about us or get detailed information on any problems you may have. We have what we call a "Healing House call" where we offer a free, short consultation to see how we might help you. We have many practitioners at our clinic in Chicago practicing "integrated medicine." Below is a brief bio and a photo of me as a reminder or introduction. I practice Acupuncture and Chinese medicine. We are right in the neighborhood at 3322 N Ashland #2, right next to the Whole Foods. Our clinic number is 773 880 9120 if you have any immediate questions. We have two topics for this newsletter, acupuncture and stress. We welcome your feedback. Enjoy! We hope that this finds you and yours healthy and happy. Kirk Moulton, L.Ac.

| There is strong evidence that acupuncture and Chinese medicine has some very good solutions for female health issues. For example, a study showing the benefits of acupuncture for infertility was published in Fertility and Sterility, a prominent medical journal. From 1997 to 1999, one of the first studies in the United States to explore the effectiveness of acupuncture in alleviating hot flashes, insomnia and nervousness, it was found that during the course of acupuncture treatments, hot flashes decreased by 35% and insomnia decreased by 50%. At Healing Junction we often use herbs for PMS and depression. Herbs aren't the only treatment available for PMS sufferers who want to avoid hormones and anti-depressants with their side effects. Researchers have found solid evidence for some vitamins and minerals -- so much that the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG) in April revised its recommendations on PMS to include them.
These are all things that we are very famliliar with at Healing Junction and it is our feeling that one size rarely fits all. Call us for a free phone consultatioin to see if your issues can be helped with our safe natural approaches
Winter Sinus problems? It may be fungal! An article published in the Mayo Clinic Proceedings in September, 1999 by the Mayo Clinic suggests that fungal sinusitis may be much more common than previously thought. Fungal growth was found in washings from the sinuses in 96% of patients with chronic sinusitis. At Healing Junction we have found using acupuncture, an anti-fungal nose spray we created, reducing carbs and sugar can make a significant difference in most of our sinusitis cases. Editor's note: Rather than taking a pill or ignoring pain or stress, why not try a massage or acupuncture?
